Mother & Child

Just as I was leaving work tonight I had a phone call from Jess to say that she had a photo opportunity for me. I was half paying attention as she said something about a ladder against a conservatory & a birds nest. I thought she was at home so started to drive over, until I had it pointed out to me that she doesn't have a conservatory & she was at her mum's. I drove home & walked round (after picking up my telephoto lens) and found this nest perched on a rung of a ladder. Although there are three chicks in the nest, I could only see this one poke his head out from underneath mum. I wish I could have gotten a little closer but the dog kennel was in the way & mum was giving me some evil glares, so this was as close as I dared.
