Sycamore Galls

These red galls on the upper surface of a Sycamore leaf are caused by a mite called Aceria macrorhynchus.

I spotted these before on my walk with the dog round the block, but didn't have a camera on me at the time. Imagine my disappointment, when several days later I went back there to get a shot of them, only to find the trees had been trimmed.

Luckily, I found some in my own garden to blip today.
