An ordinary life....

House!

I cannot believe it's another dark, dull, cold, wet day!!! Totally miserable BUT I managed to cheer myself up this morning by doing a large pile of holiday ironing! Sounds daft I know but sitting there ironing the shorts, t-shirts, summer tops put me right in a holiday frame of mind and surely the weather can't be any worse where we're going??!!

I have stopped for a coffee and a brief catch up on here. This has been the fastest blip ever of mine, no time to fart faff around so just snapped the ring I am wearing today. It was made for me by my best friend (I LOVE having a best friend who makes her own jewellery :) and I love it. Simples :)

So, today is all about our house hunt. As some of you know, I thought we had found The House. And The House is certainly a stunner and whoever ends up living there will be very privileged people indeed (it may still be us) BUT there is one tiny issue and that is, whilst The House is 100% perfect....the location is 95% perfect. The House sits in a little wood, pretty much on its own and not possible to walk to a shop so car definitely necessary. Quiet and blissfully peaceful and no bothersome neighbours to worry about!

Now, another house has come on the market, that we're calling The Contender. We are going to view it this evening. I am nervous and excited. From the pictures I have seen of it, I like it although some of the decor is not to our taste (can see past that though).

The problem with The Contender is, whilst the location is 100% perfect - It's in a small, rural town with good amenities (pubs, cafes, nice shops, chippy! :) AND the golf club is across the road and two houses down!!!) the house needs some work doing to it and doesn't have the same WOW factor as The House.

And to complicate things even further, Another House we looked at previously and really liked but felt it was too expensive, has just had £75k wiped off the price!!!

Arrrrrrrrrrrrghhhhhhh!!!!! No wonder house buying is so stressfull. Of course having seen the Brochure for The House, family and friends can't see past it so their views are biased and we can't rely on them to be objective in advising us!

What I'm hoping will happen is that when we view the Contender tonight, we will walk in and think this is perfect....with a little work we can get it exactly as we want it and the location is perfect. Sold to the lady who needs a gin and her husband who's grinning from ear to ear coz he can walk to the golf club!!!

Somehow I suspect it won't be that simple!!!

Anyhoo trying my best to catch up with comments. Please bear with me. xx
