Rocket to the Moon?

I have heard these type of statues called "Gothic Rockets" which I quite like as a name. There seem to be quite a number of them, of varying degrees of grandness, scattered around Edinburgh. This surely has to be the Saturn V of them all. It is the Scott Monument on Princes St.
