Rockpooling

20months + 5

Today's been brill! We got up and out nice and early (not difficult she woke at 5, but again had slept through, hurrah!!) and drove to Scarborough. We went to the Sunday market and found some fabulous clothes for Miss. She also got a Thomas the Tank engine bowl. I asked her if she wanted a Winnie the Pooh plate and she said "no, Thomas". At one point, we were walking round and a lady had a box of clothes on the floor. Katie decided she wanted to climb in it. The lady said I should let her. I then discovered that my camera had been on all night and had no batteries. Oops - thankfully, later on I had a friend's to borrow! She had a fabulous time walking in the meadowy grass beside the market, barefoot and loving the sunshine.

We then drove to Grandads and had a lovely play, before my aunt and uncle joined us for a three course dinner, to celebrate Grandad's birthday. Katie ate REALLY well! On an eating mission today, bless her. We then all got in the cars and headed to the North Bay. It's been fabulous to get out with all of them. Katie walked really well. We walked through Northstead Manor Gardens. She waved at the miniature steam train, tried to climb in the lake, before carrying on walking down to the beach.

We walked along the shore. I was so glad to be by the sea, with the breeze, the gentle water. It just lifts everything from me and i'm relaxed. Immediately. We rolled Katie's trousers up, on her new little playsuit that she rather adores. She then did her first rockpooling. She first of all walked, splashed and jumped in the little pools in the ripples of the sand, before carefully testing out the edges of a large rock pool, then she really did get very excited. When we took her off the beach she was begging for more.

A very tired but happy Katiemoo is snuggled on her bed (too hot for in!) after a very lovely day. xx
