Lake Whatcom Railway
C was tired and a bit groggy this morning from her trip to Raleigh, so I drove her to the Farmers' Market and hung around at the entrance with Miss Annie while she shopped.
After a quick lunch at home I went to visit the Lake Whatcom Railway-- something I'd been meaning to do for a long time. I was too late for the train ride but I enjoyed talking to Peter, who spends most of his spare time maintaining and overhauling the 100-year old steam locomotive. Today's trip was hauled by a diesel, and I had a short ride in the cab while it was moving the coaches back into the shed at the end of the day.
I'm going to take my grandchildren for a ride sometime, preferably one drawn by the steamer.
It was hard to choose my favorite photo so I put a selection on my Flickrstream.
