Fresh Ayr

1. The Saturday morning triptych - long lie, coffee and bacon sarnies.

2. The very lovely chaps round the corner have fixed my lap top. As they very kindly demonstrate how well it's working by switching it on, waiting, watching, I realise with total clarity that I need a break from computers. I need a screen holiday.

3. Off to Ayr for the day on the train. Armed with the papers and two bunches of stock we head out for lunch. All mum wants is to hear all about it, to talk about it and celebrate with me. I am very, very lucky. Very lucky indeed to have someone so caring and intersted in me to talk to.

4. Armed with champagne, I arrive home and have night alone. I don't ever mind being alone, but still I wish for company.

5. Glastonbury weekend. Last night we shared a tear, missing Dad as U2 played. I don't like Coldplay so I can't feel it tonight but I have such glorious Glastonbury memories. The music might not be mine, but I can still punch the air. A mini festival in my livingroom. A big smile on my face. Summer.
