The old and the new

This stretch of wall has quite recently been repaired by my brother and his two mates, who do dry stone walling on farms and sometimes the odd garden wall too. You can see where the old bit of wall starts from the colours of the stones. It's quite an art. You sometimes see people taking part in the dry stone walling courses you can take around here, which I imagine would be quite a pleasant way to spend a weekend in the country. As a career it is very hard work!
