Day 4 - Cherbourg and Goury
Slight headaches after some French red liquid last night, but up and out early(ish) to catch the market in Cherbourg. Croissant and a coffee in a trad cafe, then on to the market to be wowed by the.... half dozen or so ramshackle stalls selling radishes and not much else. Not quite the market experience we were after. Add to that a nice shower and Cherbourg wasn't quite the highlight of the trip.
Still, onwards and westwards, to Goury at the north western tip or Normandy. Well worth a trip - a real wild, end of the earth feel to this little hamlet on the sea, and we were soon settled in at the Auberge du Goury where we feasted on bbq'd meats and fishes for lunch. My lamb was some of the best I've ever had. The sun was popping out so we walked along the coast for a short while then headed back to the car for the drive back.
J won Scrabble again... grrr.
