Armed Forces Day 2011, Edinburgh

Edinburgh was chosen to be the main hub of this years Armed Forces Day. There was a great parade down the Royal Mile of the forces, past The Prince of Wales, the Duchess of Cornwall, the PM and many other dignitaries accompanied by a flypast by the Red Arrows, a Lancaster Bomber and 2 Spitfires.

Following this, the thousands of spectators headed round the corner to Holyrood Park where there was a full scale event going on, full of helicopters, planes, and loads armed forces things for people to do. There was also a service of thanks attended by Charles & Camilla, where I managed to get this blip. I must say having overheard Camilla speaking to the crowds, she was fabulous and really knows how to speak to people, I was very impressed.

A great day to show our troops that we support them and their sacrifices.
