8 Bridges - A Bridge Too Far
Following my bridges over the Tyne shot the other day. I thought I would follow it up with some more bridges. This time over the Manchester Ship canal.
This photo was taken from the London Road Swing Bridge in Stockton Heath and from here you can see the Cantilever High Level Road Bridge, the Knutsford Road Swing Bridge, the Latchford Railway Viaduct, Latchford locks and if you look very carefully in the distance the infamous Thewall Viaduct which carries the M6 motorway.
Looking back in the other direction you have the Chester Road Swing Bridge, Acton Grange Rialway Viaduct and Moore Lane Swing Bridge.
Chester Roman Tours are down to the last three in Barclays Bank's One Small Step competition with a prize of £50,000. The project that they have submitted is to build a permanent Roman fort in Chester. You can read all about it here. If you think that it is a worthy project why not give them a vote. Voting closes on the 27 June.
