Wind power

This turbine has blown the roof off this old cottage!
I got the bus to Evie and walked the track up the hill to the hide at Burgar Hill. Not too much about really. Headed down and saw about thirty ravens together by Georth farm. Lots of youngsters as if it was a first-time get-together for a lot of new families.
I turned north on the road and noticed the remains of an old iron turbine by the cottage at Woo. Wind power isn't brand new on the islands.

I headed down the track to the shore of Eynhallow Sound. An otter slipped into the water about one hundred yards away. He was too quick for me to photograph. I watched him hunt offshore. When they are in the water their profile is so low and streamlined they are very difficult to photograph. Lots of other wildlife...grey seals, arctic skuas, common terns, ringed plover and a pair of shelduck with nine ducklings. One was much larger than the others, perhaps a survivor from an earlier brood.
