Seaplane monster

This is a small piece of wreckage from a seaplane crash, looking slightly like a creature from the deep.

A local port served as the hub for transatlantic crossings in the 30s and 40s before advances in technology and runway construction stole the glamour and romance from air travel and turned it into the horrific experience we have today.

Interestingly, the Irish Coffee was invented here too, an important claim to fame.
