Homecoming

Dear Heart,
Well, that's that. I stripped my room bare until it looked like old bones - cold and bare. Pa and I climbed those flights of stairs far too many times, and Sophie and some of her cronies collected at the bottom of the stairs to giggle and whisper. Pa gave them a "stinking" look on his way back up, and I was ever so glad to finally climb into our beautiful blue van and drive away.
I will miss Taly, truly. But I will not miss that building, or those people. Instead, I curl up here with my family and forget, forget, forget them. Because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind... And because I never have to see them again!
Love, Lydia x
