Half of Manhattan shut down today because the President was in town. We just finished dinner and was on 53rd and Park when he decided to drive past. The cop on the corner told us that there were about 1,000 law enforcement officials involved, including the 30 motorcycle cops riding in front of the cars. They send about 6 SUVs, 5 police cars and a tow truck about 10 minutes ahead of the president to ensure a clear path. Then the 30 motorcycles arrive and there are two cars with the US flags on the front followed by more SUVs and an ambulance and even more police cars. The whole thing is completely over the top but the cop who was chatting with us
