Dunk The Crew, Lifeboat Day

Amazingly for us we were up, packed and out by just gone 9.00 and headed straight for the ferry and with less than an hour's wait we were back on Yell. Undecided whether to explore we checked in at the ferry terminal, found one waiting so drove straight on, and were back on Mainland by 10.30. After a short pootle round Collafirth we were back in Lerwick by midday.

It just so happened to be Lifeboat Day in Lerwick, with entertainment of all kinds, we were very impressed by the live music, especially the young fiddlers (and later bought some CD's of fiddle music).

The 'Dunk The Crew' team never stopped in all the time we were there, being tipped into a skip full of water time after time with obvious enjoyment. They later gave a demonstration of a sea rescue, timed to coincide with the arrival of the Northlink Ferry (our Ferry) whose passengers watched from the deck - I hope they'd been told it was only for fun.

We'd plenty of time to wander in the SUNSHINE, buy souvenirs and gifts, and an ICE CREAM!!! (and excellent it was, from the Tablet shop) and have a quick look at the fort before taking our place in the queue for the ferry home.

On board we watched the coastline recede then, after another exellent meal, went down to the cabin, took the seasick pills (just in case) and fell asleep - those pills certainly work.

Backblipped after return from holiday.
