Aquamarine/Nanna K's Day

Ganges Harbor

Whew, today we took our little boat to Ganges on Saltspring Island, about 7 miles from here, on what looked like a fine day, expecting to pick up our bigger boat which has been getting serviced (for 2+ weeks !- we had to bring the part it needed from the US) and do the shopping....(the bank, the bakery, the wine store, the bookstore for Digital Photographer magazine, the hardware store, the fish store, and the grocery store) and get a restaurant lunch..... Well the boat was NOT ready, the wind came up and we had one vertebrae crushing ride home. I tried to get pictures of the water with my pocket camera (glad I didn't bring the bigger one!) but it never looks as rough as it is. :-) and this was a bit more interesting photo of the boats at the sheltered public marina in this busy harbor (but that's an astonishing amount of unoccupied dock space for summer!). Our "little boat" (I call it "Hi Ho silver" which was apt for today) is about in the middle, with 4 bags of groceries in front of it - I'm up the ramp to collect more groceries. If you look closely you can see the white caps in the harbor on the right, but the sky was blue with puffy clouds and no bones broke so just another wee adventure. And we have a full larder -what a good feeling. Now I need to stay here and recover. And maybe our boat will get delivered........sometime. Sigh.
And after we got home the golf cart stopped working before getting all the supplies up. :-(
Always something.

I meant to say yesterday that there was a young man on our beach doing research for his phD thesis on the effects of the indigenous raccoons on intertidal life. We gave him our email address as we will be very interested in reading his paper!!

EDIT --I've never done this before, but I'm changing the photo, one day later. It's that old dilemma, should it mirror the journal or stand as a better photo? Decided since what I journaled was about the water, that I should blip the water. YOu can see the spray from our boat (we were salty when we got home) and at least 5 flags straight out in Ganges over the floatplane dock and town....
