Marble Arch
I took Mum to London for the first time since her move back to England in order to catch Erika's performance at Hinde Street Methodist Church. . The evening was devoted to modern Opera - I have no experience of this so didn't have a clue what to expect. I quite liked some of it, it was definitely interesting. Erika did a very good Regina, I was a bit concerned when she 'died' at the end of her bit and had to stop myself running up to see if she was still breathing! All the performers did really well. I just find it a shame that not more people go to experience these performances especially when they are free. All the performers, although still in training, have years of work in the field under their belts and are very good!
In the afternoon before the show we met up with a distant cousin of my mothers who was on a tour of London from Germany. I had no recollection of ever having met her before, I definitely wouldn't have picked her out of a crowd. It was nice to meet her though and Mum was chuffed that she had made contact. I expect she was on a mission to check out that Mum was okay in England. I hope she went home with confirmation that Mum is in fact fine. Things in England can work just as well, sometimes better, than in Germany.
On our way back to the car which I'd parked under Hyde Park I saw this cute little elephant and I thought it would be a nice way to remember the day.
