Condensatepump-insert
Unit EC3 is still in major overhaul.
So I went into the plant to shoot some pictures and saw the innerwork of one of the main condensatepumps of the unit, hanging in one of the overheadcranes.
The capacity at normal load of the unit (appr.350Megawatts) is appr. 370 tons of water per hour.
This pump discharges the water (condensate) from the condenser to the feedwatertank.
The green part shows the in- and outletflanges.
The casing of the pump is in the basement, under the condenser, inserted in the concrete flooring, to ensure enough suction height (for the experts: to ensure enough NPSH; nett positive suction head) ).
To give an idea of the dimensions: the cranedriver Ad is standing in the near background.
At the left: the outer housing of the low-pressure turbine.
