Racing Against Time

After warm dry day yesterday it bucketed down today. relentless rain since we got up so by 1 0'clock I had had enough. packed what I needed and caught the 13,36 bus to Glasgow. had a warm cosy journey there , relaxed with a good book. The bus was late getting in to Buchanan Street about 4 o'clock so headed to the shops to find either a new outfit or a blouse / top to go with an absolutely ,
gorgeous skirt which I love wearing. tried various shops but found exactly what I wanted in that shop in Sauciehall Street which has big labels ( designer ) at small prices, or so they say. Then a quick visit to another shop to get SD cards for John, sandwiches from a sandwich bar then hurried back to the station.

I had always intended getting a quick shot of that wonderful clock outside the station , no one had brightly coloured umbrellas so had to settle for this one. Should have put on the lens hood as the 2nd shot was much better but had big raindrop splashes. Silly me.

Any way I reckon the image describes my quick foray into Glasgow. As you can see I got back to the station by 5:45 in time to board the bus which heads back to Argyll at 6:00 on the dot. No hanging about anymore.

I remember once going to Glasgow on the bus then over to Edinburgh for the afternoon. Got back to the bus in Glasgow just as it was ready to go. Some of the other regular passengers had reminded the driver that I had intended going back and he waited a few minutes for me. That just can't happen anymore with the the new tighter timetable. The small price we pay for 3 extra buses either way.
