...was how I felt this morning, it being my birthday. But after the fortification of breakfast at Bill's I was ready for the day. Ildi and I set off for Nyman's, a National Trust property at Handcross in West Sussex. Intriguing ruins, a fine house and beautiful experimental gardens...

And later, a lovely meal at the Pelham House Hotel restaurant with Lewes friends John and Tracy, and twitter friends Damian and Julia.
