Let's do lunch.
Popz had some letters to post off to Australia, a few 'thank yous' to people she stayed with and looked after her. (well brought up girlie! - thanks to B for that!).
So, we wandered off down to Teddington and she treated her old dad to a mid-week lunch! That was nice. We chewed over her career moves now she's back in the land of reality. She has a few contacts still from when she left, having met one of them yesterday, and there seems to be a lot of potential, but best not to get carried away...it's tough out there!
It reminded me of yesterday when I was deciding upon my career path..."where to next?". I think it was easier 30 years ago. I never feared of not getting a job. A real possibility nowadays, for her and for me! (Just when I should be thinking of not having a job.)
The difficulty will be getting back on the ladder after almost a year out. Once in a job, she has been appreciated and neither employer so far have wanted her to leave. Problem is, neither were 'career' jobs - albeit the money was good!
We decided to try out the Clock House Pub on Teddington High Street. I opted for the Haddock Fish Cake with poached egg on top. I hadn't expected the quality that was presented. It was delicious!
May do Lunch again soon!
