Day 17 - Ujue and Sugared Almonds
Took a drive south of Pamplona today, away from the mountains and into the plains, where the temperature reached 34C under cloudless skies.
We visited the hilltop village of Ujue, a bit tidy and gentrified to be genuinely 'unspoiled' but a lovely spot. At one point I heard what I thought was a conversation, before I realised that it was a little old lady inside this shop talking to me. We went in and it turned out that she was selling sugared almonds, and she explained to us where they came from, how they were made, and all kinds of other stuff, not a word of which we understood :)
Anyway we came home with a big bag of sugared almonds.
