free as the wind blows
Almost an entire year after announcing his intention to leave and join his girlfriend in Shetland Euan finally got round to leaving the building for the last time today. His first act on his last morning was to snigger at the automation-disruption he had caused with a schoolboy error in a minor adjustment made the previous day. Such perennial cheeriness is typical of him and the place will be much quieter without him.

Although it's only been back for eight weeks Fridays will seem a little emptier for the next month without an episode of Lost to watch. I shall catch up on reading instead. Or catch up on something else. Eating toast, perhaps; I missed tea due to after-work-pub and a bit of toast is always welcome no matter how late at night it appears. I really should get along with catching up with the picture-editing backlog which still dates back to last August's switch to RAW or with weeding the pictures on the external drive or perhaps with finishing off copying stuff to wee external drive and completing the switchover to llaptopp but the latter will be on hold for a little while until the replacement arrives following the sudden and complete demise of the wireless adaptor. A few frantic emails to Amazon's admirably late-staffed customer services revealed that they'll be using Parcelforce for the replacement rather than the fuckup-O-matic HDNL and their amazing illiterate drivers. I never thought I'd be grateful for someone delivering via Parcelforce but there you go. I also have 30 days to get round to sending this one back so won't have to piss around too much to transfer things and won't need (as I was dreading) to have to wipe everything off this by tomorrow morning to get it in the post in order to get it back so that the new one could be sent without too much delay.
