No 85: Green Woodpecker

Another shall I - shan't I? shot. And clearly I shall. Taken between the trees, I was amazed that this came out at all, it's unmistakeable, even if a poor shot, and a green woodpecker is a bird I seldom see, so I'm not missing an opportunity. Remembering the ring ouzel!!! The forecast for this morning was good, so I got up at 4:30 and returned to the area where I saw a whinchat last week, and know that there are flycatchers. Saw none of these - that will teach me to go twitching! Several birds already blipped put in an appearance, so it was a good birding walk: curlew, heron, lots of wrens, dipper, grey wagtail, meadow pipit, stonechat and redstart. Soldiering on without my computer still. Getting seriously fed up now as I was told on Friday it would be Saturday at the latest, and today they told me a few more days. I didn't take this shot with my iPhone, as it says - that's a quirk of the complicated process of uploading a photo via iPad and iPhone rather than direct from my computer. If anyone knows a better way - please let me know. I hope those lovely people at Blipfoto will get the app sorted for iPad soon
