ENVIRONMENT

In my bird shots I like to try and capture Bird behaviour - I try and shy away from static shots and I prefer flight - fight - feeding habits - things like that.
occassionally though a pure natural History shot comes along which betrays a bird just as it is - Its like a speciman shot - one that could be used to identify the subject.

This shot has this aspect but it is also an environmental shot.

People will know that we have had huge damage in Christchurch with three very major shallow earthquakes and a total of 7500 approx aftershocks. ( your probably sick of hearing it ) The damage to Christchurch is massive. This picture shows damage to the birds environment. This sink-hole is one of hundreds this bird has to put up with. It will take many years to recover this environment.
