Father's Day!
What a great day!
Started off well with a lie in! Woken with a cup of tea in bed...a leisurely hot shower and pamper followed by a King's Breakfast! Wonderful. Does make you feel like a King. Then some unexpected but much needed pressies (I was needing to smell better!).
The sun started to come out, so I sat in the garden with a steaming hot cuppa and noticed our climbing rose had at last bestowed upon us at least one bud which had obviously come out just for the occasion, as I hadn't noticed it before and we had none last year. OK, it was small, but today, I was thankful for any show of gratitude from any direction.
We took Dilly for a lovely walk in Home Park, well three of us did, the boys left at home studying for their big exam day tomorrow, poor Joe again has two in one day again. We thought having two in one day earlier in the month was bad luck, but a double on two days in the schedule....what are the chances!? It clouded over a bit, but we walked as far as the Golden Jubilee fountain and watched the Cormorants Dive for food and feed the youngsters, before catching a bit of the rain on the way back. Didn't dampen my spirits!
We finished up the day with a 4 course meal at Tom's restaurant. Everything was awesome....but the Sole was to die for. The Raspberry Cheesecake was just too delicious, so my apologies for diving straight in before I had taken a shot of it! (Notice the tip has already been sampled!). A few bottles of wine later with the 5 most important people in my life, and I was ready to hit the road back home, just in time to watch another Irishman take the US Open title back to Northern Ireland...about 25 miles north of B's family Home....and a day doesn't really get much better than this.
Made a rod for my own back though...had loads of photos to process and chose for tonight's blip...which I couldn't, so have done a montage for you...best that way.
Best day so far!
PS, Best seen large if you want to see the food! - Proud of my boy!
