Phainopepla

My bird book indicates these fellows are scarce. Well this year they are in the neighborhood every day since this spring. They like insects, berries and mistletoe that is in abundance in the area. I've not ever seen one fly "straight", more like a roller coaster that will stop in mid air then go on. They're really fun to watch.
I should ad that the lens here is at 200mm with a 2x photomultiplier on a 1.6 crop factor sensor. Then..... the image is cropped.... a lot.
