Happy Birthday Boy

Such a lovely day.

I caught the 8.30am bus to London, Gareth opened his card at about 10 and worked out (from my map and clue and money's) the secret.

It stayed dry right until i was out walking the streets, it then rained for most of the rest of the day. But for once i didn't mind too much. I met my boy and (after a rather embarassing incident with an old man tapping me on the elbow to inform me my bag was pulling my dress up, oh dear) we headed to Borough Market in search of food.

If you haven't been go, the smells and colours and choice of delicious looking food is wonderful. I ended up having an ostrich burger which was TASTY! Took quite a few pictures and though this isn't the best one i just like it because they know i'm taking it, and i like all the signs.

We then wondered to Harrods, looked at the cute puppies in there, went for a coffee (argued about the last mouthful of water in the bottle for a bit, hehe) went to the Natural History Museum to see the skeletons and the whale.

We ate at spaghetti house (with tesco vouchers, £10 of vouchers that tesco give me for nothing swapped for £30 of restaurant voucher, oh yes). That was pretty good too though we had a bit too much bread and meaty things as a starter to fit all our meals in and they took forever bringing us the bill so we had to leg it in the pouring rain to make it to the theatre in time.

We did though, just about. Blood Brothers was so good. Doesn't quite beat Les Mis but it was very well acted and funny and heart wrenching and captivating. We had pretty much perfect seats too almost at the front in the middle of the dress circle (half price on student beans, oh yes!).

Took a little wander by the river to look at lights (because what's a trip to London without going down by the river) before collapsing onto a train.

YAY for making plans and keeping secrets and surprises and birthdays and lovely days despite rain.
