Crossmyloof Mansions, Shawlands, Glasgow

A grey day, and although promised, the sun never shone.

Built around 1890, this is a classical white gushet tenement building, with a bowed end and a balustraded parapet. There are several curved buildings like this around Glasgow. The Granary on the ground floor is a pub. A great vantage point from the top floor in several directions. The roof area is often used for hanging out washing to dry.

This is a popular meeting point at what is known as Shawlands Cross. I've spent many a wet morning over the years waiting here, as the bus routes into the city centre run along both sides of this building.
