The children in the "up high cafee" as Katie pronounces it in John Lewis, Edinburgh.
With Malcolm off at Cub Camp, I took Katie, Gordon and Duncan to Edinburgh on the bus. We were fairly early and didn't hurry anywhere for a change. The boys both had birthday loot to spend so we toured the toy and game shops and came home with a nicely old-fashioned selection - Lego, table tennis, Lego, velcro darts, Lego, Hama beads, Lego and some stationery. I let the side down by buying a Tony Hawks skateboard for the Wii - £20 reduced from £90! "Look what I saved!"
We had a couple of food stops, first in the John Lewis cafe with a fantastic view (blip-large), then in Henderson's Bistro for some hearty soup and excellent puddings.
Malcolm arrived home from camp buzzing with stories, he had a wonderful time. Canoeing, climbing, midnight feasts... What an adventure.
All in all, a great weekend was had by all!
EDIT: I changed my blip. It was this one of a street band so comments referring to young ladies falling over aren't talking about our Katie! The street band were performing Jimi Hendrix's Fire on guitar and erm... euphonium. Edinburgh is filling up with Festival and Fringe type stuff and we came across that lot performing outside the St James shopping centre. It was very entertaining, and the young lady did not fall over. Not while we were watching anyway.
