Jukola orienteering relay 1st change

Decided to go with another pic from last night. This is a try-out to shoot the glow-worm of contiuous line of running head lights arriving from the woods to the changeover area. Quite desperate, really, shooting handheld in the low light with these shutter speeds :) But I hope you get the atmosphere!

It's past midnight and the runners of yesterday's photo ( they started around 11pm) are arriving to pick up the map of the 2nd leg and hand it over to the next runner of the team. The whole relay was over around 6:30am, so it takes the whole night, seven legs altogether. The first three legs were more or less dark and lights are needed. There's quite a few spectators, as you may notice, who hang around and follow it and a huge tent village for athletes and spectators to get some sleep in between. There's a part of the tent area in yesterday's pic.

Took a nap today, well needed!

And hooray, days off in front of me. Maybe even some more time for photographs :)
