Bristol Harbourside
There's a story here..
Off to Father's Day lunch though, so it will have to wait!
The view in the other direction!
Can't remember what the story is/was! Have just come back from a 70th Birthday for my Mother in Law - Yes! Two celebrations in two weeks. Sad to report there were free jugs of sangria on the tables which weren't being consumed so, given that it was sunny and a Sunday and Fathers' Day I had a few
Getting back to reality a bit, today started with an 8 mile run - a Fathers' Day treat to me from me which ended in a mug of tea and a bacon and egg butty from Brunel's Buttery (yes, he features quite heavily in Bristol). A quick walk up by the Fairbairn Steam Crane, a marvellous piece of engineering and right next to it, the Henbury Steam Engine meant a lot of explaining about the workings of steam engines to Sons #1 and #2. Then on to the M Shed which can be seen to the right of this picture which opened this weekend which faces the Festival of Nature which was going on on the opposite side of the water. What a place Bristol is?! It seems the place to be sometimes and today another Battle of Britain Sky above!
Anyway, on to have the biggest Pizza I've ever had with two happy sons before heading off with The Untrained Eye and mum to Mother in Law's Second 70th Birthday celebration.
Big bar of chocolate and a lovely shirt from Sons #1 and #2. A good day.
9.15 brings a cup of tea and the papers in bed (but really I'll doze off and/or sneakily watch Case Histories 'cos it's great!)
No shenanigans with ex-girlfriend I promise. Full disclosure to Mrs Running Backwards and Mr and Mrs Untrained Eye a.k.a. The Parents! I think I've covered all bases
Running Day (Have to check this one): 8.01 miles @ 6.5 miles/hr
