Africa Oye

This weekend it's Liverpool's annual African music festival Africa Oye

This free festival has been running for almost 20 years and goes from strength to strength. I used to work in an office on the same corridor as the guys who put this whole thing together and was able to enjoy the music they played on a daily basis as they put their programme together.

Here's one of the bands that I really loved today - the Gangbe Brass Band from Benin. Gangbe means 'sound of metal' and this band plays an intoxicating blend of jazz and juju which certainly got me shaking a tail feather or two!
