Spent the whole day at the New Forest Solstice Endurance Ride manning Checkpoint 4 on behalf of RAYNET - Weather conditions were not ideal - sunny spells but several horrendous downpours which interfered with our radio transmission! Around 100 riders took part in the 40km trek and only one minor casualty - a rider thrown into a ditch, but she got back in the saddle and finished the course with only minor bruises. The first riders went past our checkpoint at 10.20am and these are the last two passing at 3.30pm after which we were allowed to close our checkpoint and go home for a well earned cuppa.

After a quick shower and change I've spent the evening at a fund raising beetle drive quiz - (because we couldn't find the dice!) for Mayfield Nursery (a MIND project) so am absolutely shattered now!
