The Dread of the Hun, OR, The Hundred

My wife Lisa and I were standing and waiting in a line to get into a garage sale. (Who waits to get into a garage sale?) We started talking to the people to the front and the back of us. My theory was if I talked to them long enough...they would be bored to tears, and might give up their spot in line. Then...I would get in quicker to find some books and some music that I did'nt need. We waited for 45 minutes. Unreal.

The lady in front of us and I started talking photography and birding spots. Turned out...she was a blipper. She goes by the "handle" lifenaturally. Check her out. She gave me the e-mail address, and that was the first I heard of blip photo. I got on just to check out her photos.

After finding out that I had to go through a stringent entry process...it took me days to actually join. I don't like new things, and I don't like new technology. Plus...I can't type. In typing class in high school...I got "up" to 19 words a minute with 7 mistakes. My older sister says I could get an online course to teach me....but I might have to log on...and have a secret password...and...Did I say I don't like new things?

It took another couple of days before I attempted to load a picture. The suspense at the dining room table nearly did me in. I found my picture...I loaded it up...I wrote just a few words...checked my spelling...and stared at the preview button. PUSH IT!!! JUST PUSH IT!!!

I pushed it and found out I was'nt finished. C"MON, YOU"RE KILLING ME HERE!! I had to confirm the date...had another staring contest with the Publish button...looked away...and pushed it. VIOLA!!! My first blip photo. I glanced around to see if anybody in the room was cheering, and remembered I was in Florida by myself.

Many thanks to lifenaturally for suggesting this site. As most of you know...some days it's hard to get in a picture-taking mood. And...I don't know what I'll do this winter. (How many pictures of snow can you take?)

I still don't know how to favourite someones picture, and I don't know what half of the things are that are on the bottom line of the picture. I do like the chance to see pictures and stories from half-a country away, and half-the-world away.

One of these days...I'm going to figure out how to underline a word, and how to create a link to something else. I'm even thinking about joining...but I don't know how to figure out the money conversion. How much is it in sad U.S dollars? If I would join...I could put my pictures in LARGE. Trust me on this one... SNOW LOOKS GOOD IN LARGE!!!

Many thanks to you blippers. You keep me entertained, uplifted, amazed, and sometimes you CAN teach an old dog new tricks. Never shut the door on learning.

The donuts were delicous. The nutty ones are...I think... a regional thing. We don't see them in other parts of the country. If it makes any sense...they are not yeasty...they are cakey type donuts.
