I don't enjoy small talk

I'm not very fond of social occasions. Specially when I don't know the people there. I just don't like small talk. I'd rather go in the woods and listen to nature.

I have not always been like this. I just feel that I have been social enough in my past. I have no need to prove my existence to anyone. Yet I do have a lot of friends and I like to share thoughts with them in a way that I can be present.

We had a fruitful discussion about this and the outcome was that even these situations can be a gift.
