Surgical

These stainless steel surgical tongs have seen a lot of use in my kitchen for over 20 years, long before I saw celebrity chefs using them on TV. They can do everything - from turning steaks to deveining shrimp, from fishing out a single strand of pasta from a boiling pot, to plating food, to retrieving a credit card wedged behind a very large freezer.

I use regular ones too, but they don't see nearly as much action as these fine pointed babies.

The small stainless steel bowls were probably surgical in function as well. I found them at a flea market and they've proved indispensible for all sorts of kitchen prep.
