Folk Festival

It's been a lovely day today! Its not felt at all rushed, yet we've done so many fabulous things.
We started out having a breakfast date with Cousin2. They've got a lot going on at the moment, so it has been far too long (comparatively!) since we have seen them. Katie had a wonderful time and in fact went rather loopy with excitement. She was rolling over and over on the floor, twisting round at the same time and bouncing between the two sofas. She also ate a full sweet waffle and a banana.
After playing there, we went to swimming, with time for her to have a sleep. I got to sit and have an enforced chillout. Thankfully I had packed a book. it was quite nice actually as there was a band playing near by so I could hear that as I sat.
She loved her swimming lesson today and actually cooperated with some of the activities that previously she's not wanted to do (because she's just wanted to go swim!) She discovered that if she holds on to the side she can "swim". Totally flat on her tummy, kicking away like crazy, with a huge grin. She was doing her tiger arms and bubbles, bouncing along the bottom of the pool. But didnt want to do star floats, not one tiny bit!
After swimming, we put some extra on the parking and went to the Folk Festival. We'd had a snack after swimming and she'd been dancing to the music as we were sat in the restaurant so we went out to look at all the tents and activities. She had a ball in the children's tent, doing sticking and gluing, and some junk modelling. We then went out and she played this huge xylophone, and some other wooden instruments. We watched a guy from a business called Pedal Power. He sits on a wonderful old fashioned bike, pedals it, and that powers his saw, which he uses to make wooden plaques. Katie was fascinated. We then sat and watched some Irish dance and some clog dance. She got herself a balloon from one stall and dragged it proudly along.
When we got back we stopped in for a drink and a bit of a play at the play cafe. She troughed 2 portions of grapes and had a run round the soft play, diving rather enthusiastically into the balls!
