Lorraine Kelly

Today I saw Lorraine Kelly lowered from an RAF helicopter. It was exciting.

And she looks good in a jumpsuit. What's your secret Lorraine? (Don't answer - that was rhetorical).

Anyway, I thought it was how she got around until I found out later she was promoting the upcoming Armed Forces Day. I hope the Axis of Evil doesn't know about it as it would be the ideal day to stage an attack, while our brave men and women are chumming about Holyrood Park with the Duke and Dutchess of Rothesay.

After this exhilarating interlude it was off to Edinburgh College of Art for their annual Degree Show. I was underwhelmed. In fact I could muster very little whelm for their efforts.

But if you make it along, do have a look at Andrew Mason?s Potato Fountain ? it's much better than the one I picked up at Homebase last bank holiday Monday. And Michael McCallum's big humming thingie was quite good.

Culturally it was a low point, but luckily we made it along to the film festival for Dominic Allan's documentary Calvet. It is a powerful story of redemption, so go see it. A pal over from Belfast is a co-exec producer and we managed to muscle ourselves into the celebrations after - catching a few words with the director and subject of the film, Jean Marc Calvet. And it was great to see B's father-in-law who was fine company.

An interesting day, all told.
