Earthquake Damage in the Raw.
I saw this house on the way past in the car. It was so beautiful even in its rawest form that I had to drive back and take some photos. It has such simple symetry and form that it just, is what it is, and is very appealing. It has the most amazing rusting pieces of iron over the window spaces which must have been there a lot longer than the recent earthquake. There must have been a building in front which hid this house until recently. In the demolition there has been painstaking work to sort clean and pile bricks in pallets which was also interesting. I could do a massive amount of photo essay on this one site alone. Amazing textures and colours and lines and edges. Unfortunately blilpping forces a choice, so this is the one for the moment. I think the close up of rust is also pretty amazing.
