Bald Headed Blackbird

I found this Blackbird singing in the usual broom bush this evening, and thought the combination of yellow beak and yellow broom flowers might make a nice picture. Only when I came to look at the pictures now did I see that the bird was partly bald.

At first I thought it was a fledgling coming into plumage, but having done a quick Google, it seems that this is relatiely unusual, and associated with stress during the breeding season.
