Bloomsday

This being Bloomsday, I was thinking children are conspicuous by their absence in Ulysses. But then I remembered the twins Tommy and Jacky Caffrey playing on the beach in the Nausicaa chapter: 'two curlyheaded boys, dressed in sailor suits with caps to match.'

Here's my own Jack, who climbs the rigging in Thornwood Park like he's been doing it for years. And not a sailor suit in sight.
