Poppies

These are poppies that I brought down from my Banffshire garden as seeds.
I have a lot of plants from cuttings which I took from various friends when I lived up north.
When I now look at those which have survived the brutalities of rabbits and deer I can think of these friends.
I always took the opportunity (a pair of secauters and plastic bags) when invited to their houses to snip wee bits and pieces of their gardens and see if the plants would take root.

Tonight I was going to wait until the lights of Fife across the Forth began to sparkle and the ships waiting it out mid-stream were prettily lit and the oil that has been burning as a bright ball of light also across in Fife was at its most radiant - as here - but I'm wending my way towards bed now with a novel, the end of which is needing to be read, so here are poppies for you instead.
