Day 13 - Lekunberri, Navarra
After a week of warm and mostly sunny weather, we woke to low cloud and drizzle.
Took a walk into town after breakfast and visited the tourist office, which is housed in the old station building, which has been nicely modernised inside and was very useful - we gathered loads of info about local cycling and walking, and about Pamplona which we will visit later. Lekunberri is a mixed bag, with some beautiful very old buildings near the centre, a modern cafe / patisserie and a few bars, but it has a slightly run-down feel on the main street. The name is Basque rather than Spanish, I suspect.
In the afternoon we walked 2.5 km to the souther end of the 'via verde', an old and very atmospheric railway line abandonded in 1953 and which is gradually being turned into a walkers' and cyclists' route. In the other direction it continues for 40km, so that's for another day. The blip was taken on a weir near the end of our walk.
Posted at the Lekunberri campsite, where I've finally managed to get a great wiffy signal, so there are now also three days worth of backblips.
I promise to get round to comments tomorrow!
