Our Gordy, 6 years old. Happy birthday son! Lego Atlantis versus Lego Star Wars battle going on in the foreground. Gordy seems detached as his troops give their all for his random whims. Oh, the power in youth!
We had a lovely "6-years-ago we had a birth pool in the living room" day, with a late night due to excitement, an early start due to excitement, mood swings due to excitement, thrills, fights, sulks and cuddles due to excitement. When I swung home after an un-productive day at work, cake in bike pannier, things had bottomed out - due to excitement. BUT! There was an exciting parcel and it was Gelli Baff! Excellent and thanks to Helendc for the tip-off ;)
Now time for bed and time to reflect on the day.
I met my lovely friend Claire for coffee this morning, and we both had a bit of a whine about work and life. Work mostly today. We met in the "sexy young things" cafe where I was treated to an enormous (2 handles!) vat of coffee with a hand-drawn heart in the chocolate on top. Cheered me up no end =)
Then a ride to Drem, left the bike at the station instead of tackling the crap new trains' bike spaces. Then sat in work on a floor where I don't usually sit, and basically had a queue of people waiting to speak to me. At one stage they all stood about and talked _about_ me in front of me. Is that good? I dunno, better than being ignored I suppose!
I was so busy I sat in my cycling clothes amongst the shiny suits all afternoon and realised eventually that I smelled fairly bad. So, I put a t-shirt on and bagged my berghaus top. Smelled a bit better, looked like shit. Whatever.
Then home on the Drem train, bike via East Linton, buy cake, bit of wine, meet Uprising Adi randomly in Co-Op, tri-bars home with the wind behind me at 25mph. Whoosh!
Eat, Gelli Baff, argue a bit, bed. And I hope sleep!
