Wildflower meadow
8 years ago I wrote to the local council about a triangle of verge-side in the next village to me that was full of Cuckoo flowers (Ladies Smocks) in spring which were being enthusiastically mowed every fortnight, killing them off. I requested they not cut it in the spring until after they had flowered.
Perhaps because it was quite boggy there they surprisingly agreed and haven't really cut it since!
As well as the cuckoo flowers it is now full of wild flowers in the summer including at least 2 kinds of orchid, and I noticed lots of birds and butterflies
I don't know whether the residents opposite have ever noticed!
PS am doing some back blipping as I haven't had time to compute for days!!
