Foxy Loxy
On the way home tonight I stopped off at our local agricultural suppliers to replenish our chicken supplies (layers pellets, mixed corn and grit). Tonight the children helped clean the girls out - they enjoy doing this.
We have had chickens for over two years now. We started with three (Chicken Licken, Foxy Loxy and Henny Penny). We lost Henny Penny last summer but the other two are still going strong. They were all rescued from the Battery Hen Welfare Trust, who rehome hens after they are past their laying prime.
They have earnt their keep and provided us with lovely regular eggs. Their egg production has been a little hit and miss over the past month or so. I went to shut them up for the night and discovered Foxy Loxy wasn't on her roosting bars but asleep in her nesting box - naughty girl!
