Stenness

The farmers are cutting hay for silage and the birds are moving in on the insects revealed by the cutting. It must be tough on the bugs. One minute you are safely tootling around on the floor of a veritable redwood forest; next, you are as exposed as an elephant on a ffotball pitch. The crows, gulls, pigeons, oystercatchers etc show no mercy.
