Braai

A braai is a South African barbeque, and these guys are kings of the grill!

Our guides, Mpho and Silas looked after us brilliantly. They were caring for the horses, tracking the game, mixing the perfect G&T . . . and they can cook a steak!! The campfire is lit early, and then the hot embers from underneath collected and spread under a metal grill to cook the dinner.

The steak we ate was reared at Horizon (happy meat really does taste better) and was cooked to perfection by Silas, whilst Mpho whipped up 'pap' (polenta) and roasted veggies in the house. Eaten round a big table, recounting the day's events, it's unbeatable!!
